Frizz, explained.

Frizz can make freshly styled hair feel unpredictable: smooth indoors, expanded outside, and different from one section to another. It is not always lack of moisture. It is often a surface-control and humidity-management problem shaped by porosity and natural texture.

What is happening inside the hair

When the cuticle is uneven or porous, water moves in and out of different parts of the fibre at different rates. In humid air that uneven swelling changes the strand’s shape and increases friction between neighbouring hairs. Curly and chemically treated fibres are especially prone to this variation.
