The Schwarzkopf Professional Colour Bar — Tools, Essensity & Back Bar

Schwarzkopf Professional has been making hair colour in Germany since 1898 and is today part of Henkel. This page is the working end of that brand: the colour-bar tools, back-bar hardware and service chemistry a Canadian salon actually runs a colour day on — not the retail shelf.

What you will find here: tint brushes in five shapes, colour bowls, applicator bottles, a reusable lightener scoop and a digital scale that reads to the gram; balayage boards and the BM Paint On lightener brush; grip and section clips, needle and jumbo combs; thermal highlighting strips in 8" and 12"; cut-and-colour capes, tinting aprons, backbar pumps for 1 L bottles, the Color Smart Box, client record cards and branded retail bags. Alongside the hardware sits the service chemistry: Essensity ammonia-free permanent colour and its Essensity Oil Developer, Skin Protect Cream and Scalp Protect Serum for before the service, Stain Remover and the pH-neutralizing Hair Sealer for after it, and the Bond Enforcing Color Remover Kit for when a colour has to come back out. Two SKP electricals round it out — the ProHeat 3.0 1875 W dryer and the Pro Flat 2.0 iron.

Schwarzkopf's colour, blonde, care and styling ranges are no longer merged into this page. IGORA permanent and demi colour, BLONDME lightening and toning, Bonacure care, OSiS+ styling and STMNT grooming each have their own brand page — one brand, one page, even where the manufacturer is shared.

How we buy it: ProHair is an independent Canadian professional beauty retailer, in business since 1996. We stock Schwarzkopf Professional bought on the current Canadian Schwarzkopf professional order form, and every item ships in sealed manufacturer packaging. We are not one of the regional distributors Schwarzkopf lists on its own site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this page show tools and back-bar items instead of IGORA, BLONDME or Bonacure?
Because those are now their own brand pages. IGORA colour, BLONDME lightening and toning, Bonacure care, OSiS+ styling and STMNT grooming were separated out so each brand has one page of its own, even though Schwarzkopf Professional makes them all. What is left on this page is what is genuinely sold as plain Schwarzkopf Professional: the colour-bar tools, back-bar hardware, service chemistry and the two SKP electricals. Use the links in the intro to jump straight to the range you want.
Is ProHair an authorized Schwarzkopf distributor?
No, and we will not claim to be. Schwarzkopf Professional Canada lists its regional distributors on its own site — CANRAD, Central Beauty, Radiant, Windsor and Chalut — and ProHair is not one of them. What we can state plainly: ProHair is an independent Canadian professional beauty retailer, in business since 1996, and the Schwarzkopf Professional stock on this page is bought on the current Canadian Schwarzkopf professional order form and ships in sealed manufacturer packaging.
What is Essensity and who is it for?
Essensity is Schwarzkopf's ammonia-free permanent colour system. It lifts and deposits like a conventional permanent tube but leaves out ammonia, silicones and artificial fragrance, which makes it the usual choice for clients whose scalp reacts to a standard tube or who cannot tolerate the smell. It must be mixed with Essensity Oil Developer rather than a standard cream oxidant — the two are formulated as one system, so do not substitute a developer from another line.
Which tint brush should I actually buy?
It depends on the section you are working. The Classic Color Brush is the general-purpose default for tube colour. The Wide Application Brush covers large sections fast on a full head. The Root Retouch Brush and the SKP Light Angled Brush both have narrow, angled heads for new growth and precise placement at the hairline. The Color Brush w/ Comb has a comb spine so you can section and place in one motion. Most colourists end up owning the Classic plus one narrow brush.
What is the difference between the Grip Clips and the Section Clips?
Both come in 10 packs. The Grip Clips have a textured, non-slip jaw that holds through product and works well on wet, coated or freshly lightened hair. The Section Clips are a plain salon sectioning clip for dividing a head cleanly before a service. If you only buy one pack, buy the Grip Clips — they hold in the conditions colour work actually creates.
Do I need the Digital Scale, or can I eyeball the mix?
For a 1:1 tube-to-developer ratio you can get away with a lot. For anything that specifies grams — Essensity ratios, lightener-to-activator, or a formula you want to reproduce on the same client in six weeks — a scale is the difference between a repeatable result and a guess. The Schwarzkopf Digital Scale reads to the gram and is the single most useful item in this range for consistency.
What is the Bond Enforcing Color Remover Kit used for?
It is a 10 x 30 g two-part kit for lifting unwanted artificial pigment back out of the hair without a bleach service. "Bond enforcing" refers to the bond-protective element in the formula that limits the structural cost of the removal. It is a corrective, salon-applied product — not an at-home fix — and it is the tool for a colour that has gone too dark or too warm rather than for lightening natural pigment.
Are the Fibre Clinix products on this page part of the same range?
Fibre Clinix is a Schwarzkopf Professional care line and it carries the same vendor, which is why it appears here. What is listed is current stock: the InfiniteBond shampoos, treatments and Instant Infusion Concentrate, and the Fortify, Hydrate and Vibrancy Boosters. Treat availability as limited to what is on the page — if a Fibre Clinix item you want is not listed, it is not something we can order in.
